At Sodi-Tech UK, we take pride in supporting the education sector and helping to develop the next generation of engineers and manufacturing specialists. Across the UK and Europe, many universities and training centres are equipped with Sodick technology, enabling students to gain hands-on experience with advanced EDM manufacturing systems.
Recently, we spotted a fantastic post from Matt Garbett of ZCC-CT, highlighting his visit to the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills (ECMS) at the University of Wolverhampton. During his visit, Matt met with Dr. Manpreet Singh to discuss manufacturing, education, and the exciting Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme — an initiative that connects academic expertise with real-world industry projects.
The ECMS, located on the historic M&B Brewery site, is home to a range of cutting-edge equipment and training facilities, including Sodick EDM technology and an AMCM GmbH 3D printer — one of only two in the UK. These facilities provide students and professionals alike with access to the latest in advanced manufacturing tools and processes.
We’d like to extend our thanks to Matt Garbett and ZCC-CT for shining a spotlight on the importance of collaboration between education and industry. Partnerships like these help ensure that the UK manufacturing sector continues to grow, innovate, and attract new talent.
At Sodi-Tech UK, we remain committed to working with universities, colleges, and industry partners to promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and practical skills development — empowering the next generation of engineers to lead the future of manufacturing.
