Relocating precision machinery is never a simple task, especially when production downtime needs to be kept to an absolute minimum.
That’s why Sodi-Tech EDM continues to support customers not only with machine supply and service, but also with complete machine relocation projects designed to ensure equipment is safely moved, professionally recommissioned and returned to production as quickly as possible.
Most recently, members of the Sodi-Tech service team, including Chris Bradshaw and two additional engineers, supported a customer with the relocation of three machines into a new factory facility.
As part of the move, the team carried out specialist decommissioning work to prepare the machines safely for transport. This included fully removing the carousel tool changer from an AQ35L and removing the monitor and support arm from a VN600Q to ensure both machines could be transported securely and efficiently.
Following installation at the new facility, the Sodi-Tech engineers fully recommissioned and tested the machines, ensuring they were production-ready and operating correctly before being handed back to the customer.
Machine relocation services like this are something Sodi-Tech provides regularly across the UK. With extensive experience handling precision EDM and machining equipment, the company understands the importance of minimising downtime while protecting machine accuracy and long-term performance throughout the moving process.
Using manufacturer-trained Sodi-Tech engineers throughout the relocation ensures customers benefit from a smoother transition, faster turnaround times and the reassurance that machines are correctly tested and calibrated once installed in their new environment.
As manufacturers continue to expand, reorganise and invest in new facilities, support services such as these play an increasingly important role in keeping production moving efficiently and reliably.
