🚂 They haven’t replaced their Sodick machines. They’ve added more!
At PECO (Pritchard Patent Product Co Ltd) in East Devon, the precision behind its model railway products starts in the toolroom — and Sodick has been part of that story since 2005.
Celebrating its 80th anniversary, PECO manufactures an extraordinary range of products here in the UK. Behind the detailed track, buildings and accessories are mould tools, press tools, jigs and fixtures produced and maintained in-house.
In our latest video, Steve Woods from PECO (Pritchard Patent Product Co Ltd) joins our Technical Sales Manager, Conor Plaskitt, to explain how Sodick EDM technology supports that operation.
The relationship began with an AQ35 die-sinker, which is still producing accurate work more than 20 years later. Wire EDM and hole drilling followed, with a more recent ALC investment adding capacity and the benefits of iGroove technology.
Steve explains how wire EDM has helped replace lengthy manual grinding processes, allowing the team to produce accurate tooling more quickly and consistently. But the machines are only part of the story. “I can’t speak highly enough of the whole team,” says Steve, highlighting the support he receives from our sales, applications and service colleagues.
For us at Sodi-Tech EDM, that’s what a long-term partnership should deliver: technology that keeps earning its place, backed by people who are there when you need them.
